John P. Lanier, M.D. a native of Atlanta, Georgia, attended The Westminster Schools and graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended graduate school at Georgia Institute of Technology before receiving his M.D. degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Completing his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, he served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S.Navy receiving a distinguished service record. Following thirteen years in the practice of Ob/Gyn, he retired early from this subspecialty, returning to Harvard University and Georgia State University to gain additional training in Primary Care and Physical Medicine treating musculoskeletal injuries and diseases.
The next fifteen years were spent working in several Chiropractic / Medical practices in the metro Atlanta area treating the acute pain associated with sports injuries. For several years Dr. Lanier nurtured a growing interest in the area of chronic pain and its management.
Dr. Lanier immersed himself in training in chronic pain management and completed an internship under the direct mentoring of Michael Kroll M.D. He has been a member of the medical staff at Kroll Care, PC, a Georgia Licensed Pain Clinic in Woodstock, Georgia since August, 2015. In addition to his pain management expertise he also has expertise and a strong interest in testosterone male hormone replacement therapy with its benefits in maximizing male mental and physical ability. He is the director of this service at Kroll Care.
Dr. Lanier enjoys performing arts, sacred chorale music and world travel. He is an avid believer in exercise and proper diet as the secret to longevity.
